The “Man” in Our Man in the Field was never intended to be “The man” in the “Stick it to the man” Cool hand Luke/Proud Mary sense. However with the advent of In The Field Recordings I may need to have a rethink. No longer can I sit at the table crammed full with fellow frustrated artists, nursing a brandy, complaining about crooked record deals and the system being rigged. Not now that I have changed sides. I suppose I ought to start smoking cigars and forcing people to call me “boss” or “Big Al” while I schedule in my next round of gout, can’t wait.
